Caring for Your Knitwear

Wash your knitwear as infrequently as possible and air it regularly between wears. Simply airing your garment outdoors—sometimes called "wind washing" helps keep it fresh and reduces the need for washing. When washing is required, always hand wash only in cold water using a wool detergent.

Hand Washing Instructions

1. Soak

Soak your knitwear in cold water with a wool detergent for 5–10 minutes.

2. Wash Gently

Gently squeeze the suds through the garment. Do not rub, twist, or wring.

3. Rinse

Rinse thoroughly in clean cold water.

4. Remove Excess Water

Gently press out excess water and roll the garment in a clean towel to absorb moisture.

5. Dry Flat

Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry, away from direct heat or sunlight.

Important Care Notes

  • Hand wash only in cold water.
  • Never machine wash, spin, or tumble dry.
  • Avoid direct heat sources such as radiators, heated airers, or dryers
  • Always dry your knitwear flat to help maintain its shape.

Storage Tips

To keep your knitwear looking its best:

  • Store folded neatly in a drawer or storage box.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and damp environments.
  • Never hang wool sweaters, as this can stretch the fibres and cause the garment to lose its shape over time.
  • Ensure garments are clean before storing for extended periods.
